Who we are
The Skilled Immigrant InfoCentre is a virtual resource centre that connects skilled immigrants, community service providers and BC public libraries. We can help you via email, phone, or in person. We are located at Vancouver Public Library at 350 West Georgia Street and are open during regular Central Library hours. Clients may be asked to book an appointment. This video describes the Skilled Immigrant InfoCentre.
What we do
We provide assistance to skilled immigrants who qualified in a trade or profession in their home country and would like to find the same type of work in BC. There are 71 Employment Guides that contain professional associations, employment outlook, upgrading information, and much more. If there is no guide for your industry, we will set up a personal consultation and share the information related to your industry. All of our services and resources are free.
We also offer a 1-hour free, drop-in Career and Job Search program that can assist you with your path to employment. We also offer a 1.5 hour free, drop-in Small Business program. This is an introduction to self-employment and small business resources available in the Science and Business Division and on the Internet.
We can recommend employment programs, government agencies, professional associations, and any other institutions or organizations that may be of assistance with job searching, resume writing or assessing of credentials.
